Terms and Conditions
By agreeing to these terms and conditions, the client acknowledges and understands the following:
- Tele-psychotherapy has limitations compared to in-person sessions, and some details could potentially be missed out on despite the psychotherapist’s best efforts.
- Tele-psychotherapy services are by appointment only and are not suitable for help during a crisis or emergency.
- If the client contacts the psychotherapist during a scheduled appointment and their need and context warrant an in-person session, crisis intervention, or emergency services, the psychotherapist will guide them accordingly.
- The client’s online consent is sufficient to receive tele-psychotherapy services.
- The psychotherapist will discuss the available and suitable tele-psychotherapy and audio options with the client, and together they will decide which option to use, considering the client’s preference and the psychotherapist’s assessment of the suitability of each option.
- If there are technical difficulties in communication that last for more than 15 minutes during a session, the session will be terminated and a new appointment will be scheduled.
- The client has the right to withdraw from these sessions at any time.
- The therapist may also temporarily stop or discontinue these audio/video sessions or recommend any other method or line of treatment if either of them experiences any difficulty in the process, or if the therapist believes it is in the client’s best interest.
About Hues of Being: Mental Health Services
Hues of Being is a private psychotherapy practice comprised of a team of licensed psychotherapists who help people who experience significant emotional distress that interferes with their physical well-being, personal relationships, or work productivity.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy begins with the therapist understanding the client’s background and the concerns that led them to seek help. Once this understanding is established, the client and psychotherapist collaborate to develop treatment goals, procedures, and a regular schedule for the time, place, and duration of their treatment sessions.
Responsibility for Adverse Events
The client understands that the psychotherapist will use their professional discretion to provide recommendations about the type of professional service that may be required at any given point of time. The client also agrees not to hold the psychotherapist responsible for any adverse events, such as lack of improvement, deterioration, or situations of potential risk of harm to self or others, that may occur during tele-psychotherapy or audio/video consultations. The client understands that in such situations, they may be advised to obtain treatment at the nearest available mental health or emergency service.
Privacy Policy
The client understands that tele-psychotherapy and audio/video consultations are strictly confidential. The client agrees to use a secure line/connection for these consultations in a relatively quiet and private space. The psychotherapist will not audio or video record the session or share the proceedings of the consultation with any other individual or agency. However, with the client’s consent, the psychotherapist may use the session recordings for supervision or training of professionals. Apart from this, the details of the consultation would be shared only with a court of law, if mandated.
The psychotherapist will maintain notes of the tele-psychotherapy consultations and store them in a safe location. The client has the right to request a copy of these session notes in the standard session record format.
The client undertakes not to record, share, or disseminate the proceedings of these consultations to any third person or through social media. However, despite the safety measures taken, there is a risk of breach in security in technology. In such instances, neither the client nor the psychotherapist will hold the other responsible for the breach.
Payment and Billing
The client understands that consultations will be charged as per the service products listed on the website. Payment is due before the session commences via payment gateway. The only accepted modes of payment are net banking, online services such as UPI, and PayPal.
Cancellation Policy
The client understands that they will be charged a full fee as a cancellation fee if they cancel their appointment within 24 hours of the scheduled time or do not show up for the appointment.
Refund Policy
If the therapist is unable to join a session that the client has paid for, the therapist will provide a rescheduled appointment and refund the client’s full payment. The client will need to allow 5-7 business days for the refund to process.
Agreement
By agreeing to these terms and conditions, the client acknowledges that they have read and understood all of the terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.
